Call for Entries: Logo Design Contest for The Burt Foundation
The Nathan B. and Florence R. Burt Foundation (dba The Burt Foundation) is excited to announce a Logo Design Contest to create a new visual identity that reflects the Foundation’s legacy, mission, and commitment to charitable giving.
About the Foundation
Established in 1984, The Nathan B. and Florence R. Burt Foundation is a private, tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Endowed by the late Nathan and Florence Burt—visionary founders of Burt Chevrolet and other automotive ventures—the Foundation supports tax-exempt charitable organizations through outright grants. The Burt Foundation focuses its funding efforts in two key areas: (1) programs that work to improve high school graduation rates, and (2) early childhood development programs.
Eligibility
- Employees, board members, and immediate family of The Nathan B. and Florence R. Burt Foundation are not eligible.
- All designer levels are welcome (i.e. amateur, professional designers)
The Winning Design:
- Reflects the Foundation’s mission of charitable giving to early childhood education and development, and high school completion
- Honors the legacy and entrepreneurial spirit of Nathan and Florence Burt
- Is clean, versatile, professional, and timeless
- Is suitable for use on websites, letterhead, signage, and promotional materials
- Works well in both color and black-and-white formats
Winner Receives
- A $500 honorarium
- Recognition on our website and in Foundation materials
- The opportunity to have your design represent a legacy of giving
Judging Process
- Entries will be reviewed and scored by The Burt Foundation Board of Directors and the Executive Director
- Judging criteria include:
- Relevance to the Foundation’s mission and legacy
- Originality and creativity
- Visual impact and versatility
- Finalists may be asked to make minor revisions.
- The winner will be announced on August 1, 2026.
Submission Deadline
- All entries must be received by 11:59 PM Mountain Time on June 15, 2026
- Late submissions will not be considered.
Intellectual Property
- By submitting a design, entrants agree to transfer all rights and ownership of the selected logo to The Burt Foundation.
- The Burt Foundation reserves the right to request that the designer modify the winning logo as needed.
- Non-winning entries remain the property of the designer.
Submission Guidelines
- Each participant may submit up to two (2) original logo designs.
- Designs must be submitted in both:
- High-resolution PNG or JPG format (300 dpi)
- Vector format (AI, EPS, or SVG)
- Logos must be scalable and legible in both color and black-and-white.
- Designs must be original and not infringe on any existing copyrights or trademarks.
- Submissions must include a short description (100–200 words) describing the design and its alignment with the Foundation’s mission
